Our Salix Purpurea (Dark Dicks) is one of my ‘go-to’ willow for my basket making. I have a fondness for it because it was planted by my grandson in 2019 as part of our first planting schedule. In our willow beds, it grows alongside our precious Norbury willow.

Dark Dicks is dark green in colour and our stools provide us with a good selection of rods each year, both in length and diameter. As a favourite, it is included in ‘Gill’s Basketry Selection’.
