City & Guilds Level 2 in Basketry at Rural Skills Centre

What will you learn? You will learn about traditional baskets and the traditional basketry skills that are used to make baskets. You will also learn how to innovate and design your own contemporary baskets.

Who is the course/qualification for? The course is suitable for those who want to learn a new skill/craft and have basketry fun as well as those who envisage making a living from selling their work, or teaching basket making at some point in the future. 

When does it run? The course is part-time (2 days a month, Tuesday and Wednesday) and runs from November 2025, through to July 2026.

How much does it cost? The cost of the course is £2190. This includes all City & Guilds registration and certification fees as well as lunch/refreshments. Your place can be secured with a deposit of £300. You can either pay the balance of £1690, in full at the start of the course (£200 reduction for payment in full) or make 9 monthly payments of £210.

What happens after you have secured your place? After you have paid the deposit and secured your place on the Level 2 Basketry course with City & Guilds, we will contact you using the information you have provided and ask you to complete a form that will enable us to gauge your experience with basketmaking. Experience is not required for this course.
