Crafts and Texiles

Textiles (woven fibres) have been created since humans started to cover their bodies with natural fibres. In fact, the word ‘textile’ comes from the Latin ‘Textere’, to weave. Whether you have been bitten by the ‘Sewing Bee’ bug or want to work with yarn to felt, knot, weave, knit or crochet, or fancy transforming fabrics using appliqué, embroidery or patchwork, we aim to share these heritage crafts with you.

Did you know that it takes approximately 8000 litres of water to produce a kilo of cotton which highlights the precious nature of the fabrics created today, so it is important that we look at ways to recycle and reuse what we have.
