Workshop Overview
Come and join Ingrid Walker to learn how to create your own hand crafted stained glass Christmas decorations that you will treasure for years to come. The workshop is a wonderful start to the Christmas season and a very popular course for family members and friends to enjoy together. The stained glass treasures make wonderful gifts, as does the workshop itself.
What You Will Learn
During this workshop, you will:
- Cut glass safely and accurately;
- Apply copper foil around the glass pieces (sometimes called the Tiffany technique);
- Solder glass pieces together to create a form/design; and
- Make a hanging hook/use wire decoratively.
What You Take Home
At the end of this workshops, you will be able to take home up to three different beautifully crafted Christmas decorations along with your certificate of attendance.
Important Details
The Rural Skills Centre will provide:
- All materials and equipment to make your stained glass Christmas decorations;
- Tea/Coffee and lots of cake;
- Parking; and
- Accessible facilities.
Suitability
The Stained Glass Christmas Decoration workshop is suitable for complete beginners through to improvers and all materials and equipment are provided.
As you will be working with glass, please wear garments that fully cover your arms, legs and feet (i.e. long sleeved shirt/jumper, trousers/long skirt and shoes).
If you have long hair, it is safest to tie this back.
