Salix Nigricans is a popular willow for those wanting to add colour to their basket work. Almost black when it is harvested and black when it dries.

This is a willow that we coppice annually. It can be a bit branchy, but it is worth it for the colour. I use the side shoots of branches for French randing. Weaves beautifully.

Grows to between 6 feet and 7 feet in our willow beds.
